Stark Varg SM Sköll takes the Terramar lap record
The electric supermoto set a 41.888-second lap at the historic oval, beating Carlos Sainz Sr’s Audi R8 benchmark.

The Stark Varg SM Sköll now holds the lap record at Barcelona’s Autòdrom de Sitges-Terramar after Jonas Skovby completed the oval in 41.888 seconds. The Stark rider cut nearly eight-tenths from the previous 42.600-second benchmark. Carlos Sainz Sr had set that time in 2012, driving an Audi R8 Le Mans Series race car during a Red Bull event.
Built in 1923, Terramar is a two-kilometre concrete oval with steeply banked sections. It is recognised as Spain’s first permanent racing circuit and was completed in 300 days. The venue hosted the first Spanish two-litre Grand Prix, where Albert Divo won in a Sunbeam at an average speed of 96.91 mph.
The circuit was abandoned soon afterwards when contractors went unpaid, and it was not granted permission to host another racing event. It nevertheless remains one of the oldest purpose-built banked ovals still standing. The site has also been earmarked for redevelopment.
A limited-production electric supermoto
Stark used the new electric Varg SM Sköll for the record attempt. The published specifications list 80 bhp, a claimed weight of 124 kg and worldwide production limited to 500 units. Visordown also reports 674 Ib-ft of torque; both the figure and its unit are reproduced here as published, without adding an unsupported conversion or correction.
Speaking after the run, Skovby described riding at 200 km/h, around 124 mph, with virtually no time to correct a mistake or recover a front-tyre slide. That is the rider’s account rather than an independent Athenian Rider test. It does explain the character of the achievement: the attempt took place on a century-old, banked concrete oval where the room for recovery is limited.
