1. About the site and these terms
Athenian Rider is a free motorcycle editorial site at athenianrider.gr with Greek and English editions. These terms explain the conditions of using the service alongside the Privacy and Cookie policies. Alongside articles it publishes a buying guide with new-motorcycle prices, a trackday calendar and a page of offers. It does not offer reader accounts, paid subscriptions or online purchases.
The two language versions of these policies are intended to have the same meaning. Tell us about a discrepancy so we can clarify and correct it. Reading the site does not amount to consent to optional tracking or a waiver of statutory rights.
2. Editorial standards and limitations
Published reporting must be original editorial synthesis with traceable sources. Selected material and AI tools assist drafting. Source references allow readers to check the evidence and do not imply endorsement by the source.
Some articles are published automatically, without a person having read them first. A draft only qualifies if it passes every one of a fixed set of automated checks: both language editions complete and untouched by an editor, quality checks passed with no hard errors, a minimum share of the text supported by its cited sources, a minimum and maximum length, complete search metadata, text with no full web address (one beginning with http), email address or phone number, and an image we hold the rights to use. A draft that fails any check waits for the editor instead. Automatic publication is a setting the editor can switch off, and every article — published automatically or not — can be corrected, updated or withdrawn afterwards. Section 3 explains how to raise one.
We aim to distinguish reporting, opinion, reviews and commercial material clearly. Specifications, availability, prices, rules and schedules may vary by date and location, and this applies with particular force to the buying guide and the trackday calendar: those are reference information compiled from third-party catalogues and organisers, they are not quotations or bookings, and they can be out of date or wrong. Check the manufacturer, dealer or organiser before making a decision. An article’s publication and update dates provide context; an older article may not reflect later developments.
Riding and technical material provides general information. It does not replace qualified training, inspection or advice suited to your motorcycle and circumstances. Follow applicable road and track rules, use appropriate protective equipment and do not imitate unsafe riding. Track activities are not instructions for riding on public roads.
2.1 Buying Guide digital assistant
When available, the assistant offers up to three catalogue models based on your answers. Automated screening uses the recorded catalogue facts; an AI model considers your preferences and may use general motorcycle knowledge where catalogue information is incomplete. This is a selection from our available catalogue, not an exhaustive market comparison or a guarantee that a model is the right purchase for you.
Prices, specifications and check dates shown in the cards come from the catalogue. Explanations and trade-offs are AI-generated and can be inaccurate or incomplete. Confirm the exact model year, version, price, availability, equipment and practical fit with the manufacturer or dealer before buying. Saved results show the facts at generation time and may not reflect a later catalogue update.
A suggestion is not confirmation that your licence permits a particular vehicle. Capacity and advertised power alone do not establish entitlement; classification, power-to-weight ratio, restricted versions, continuous electric power, territory and licence codes can also matter. Verify your actual licence and the exact vehicle documents with the competent authority or a qualified professional. Check passenger provision, charging, range and physical fit in the conditions in which you will ride.
A configurable waiting period may apply between requests; its current length or next-use time is shown in the assistant. A setting of zero removes that individual wait. Shared capacity and the site’s monthly spending limit with its artificial-intelligence provider still govern availability, so access may pause temporarily. A dispatched request may consume its allowance even if no usable answer is returned. Do not bypass service limits or submit automated repeated requests.
Use the notes field only for riding preferences. The Privacy and Cookie policies explain AI processing, temporary tab storage, saved results and usage measurement. Send results only to an email address you use yourself. Using the assistant does not create a reader account, purchase or reservation, subscribes you to nothing unless you tick the newsletter box when sending yourself the results, and does not remove your statutory rights.
3. Corrections and content concerns
To report an error, use the contact form with “Article correction”, or the email below. Include the article URL, the specific passage, what you believe is wrong and supporting sources where available. For a privacy, image-rights or copyright concern, identify the material and explain your connection to the affected person or rights holder.
We will assess concerns and relevant evidence, seek clarification where needed, and correct or remove material when appropriate. Significant factual corrections should be clearly marked for readers. A complaint does not automatically change an article or guarantee removal, but it will be considered on its merits. Nothing here restricts legal remedies or data-protection rights.
4. Copyright, attribution and reuse
Site text, artwork, photography, logos and other material may be protected by copyright or other rights. Rights remain with Athenian Rider or the relevant owner. A source citation, credit, accessible image URL or appearance in an article does not grant a licence to reuse that material.
You may link to our articles and make use of material as allowed by applicable law. Seek permission for full republication or other use requiring a licence, and retain appropriate attribution. Do not present our work as your own or imply our endorsement.
The RSS feeds support readers and integrations with approved summaries and article links. They do not grant a blanket licence to republish full articles or third-party images. Use reasonable fetching intervals and respect service limits.
5. Messages and submissions
Send only material you are entitled to share. Do not send unlawful threats, malicious files or unnecessary private information, or impersonate another person. Messages may be read, checked and used to address the reason you contacted us; sending a message does not grant a broad licence to publish your private correspondence.
We will seek permission before publishing private correspondence or submitted creative material unless another lawful basis permits the particular use. We cannot promise absolute confidentiality: necessary service providers may process a message and legal obligations may require disclosure. Discuss a suitable method before sharing highly sensitive material.
6. Commercial and third-party content
The offers page carries affiliate links, and each offer is labelled “Advertisement · Commercial partnership” where it appears. If you follow one and buy something, the partner may pay us a commission: the discount code is yours, the referral is ours. It costs you nothing and usually saves you something, but you should know it before you click rather than after. Nobody buys a place on that page — we choose what goes there the same way we choose what to write about, and an offer is never presented as editorial coverage. We count how often an offer is clicked, as a number with no reader attached to it, so we can tell which are worth keeping.
Affiliate links are in use, as described above. Display advertising is not active. If sponsored articles, paid placements, products supplied for review or other commercial relationships are introduced, they must be disclosed clearly where they can affect a reader’s understanding. Paid promotion must not be presented as independent reporting.
External websites, embedded media and the products we link to are provided by third parties. Review their terms and privacy information before using them or buying anything. A link does not guarantee the destination’s accuracy, availability or safety; this does not remove our own legal responsibilities.
7. Service use and responsibility
The Privacy and Cookie policies explain our own audience statistics and optional Google Analytics. Google Analytics operates only when enabled by the site and accepted by the visitor; rejecting it does not restrict reading or use of the guide. Using the site or accepting these terms does not itself give analytics consent.
Do not try to gain unauthorised access, bypass security controls, impersonate another person, overwhelm the service or interfere with other readers. We may apply proportionate limits to protect security and availability.
We take reasonable care with the service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or that every item is error-free or suitable for every purpose. Responsibility for any loss is determined by applicable law and the circumstances. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable protections concerning intentional wrongdoing, gross negligence or personal injury.
Applicable Greek and EU law governs where relevant, without removing mandatory protections or your right to bring a matter before a competent court or authority. These terms do not impose an exclusive forum that overrides those rights.
8. Changes and contact
We will display the revision date when these terms change and provide appropriate notice of material changes. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights already acquired. For corrections, permissions or any concern about these terms, use the email below.
