The Road King returns as a 2027 Road King ST
Road Glide ST and Street Glide ST are also expected outside the CVO range, with a sharper touring focus.

Harley-Davidson is preparing to bring the Road King back for 2027 under the Road King ST name. The same indication points to the return of the Road Glide ST and Street Glide ST, which were offered as CVO models in 2026. Motorcycle.com found individual accessory pages for all three motorcycles on Harley-Davidson’s official website. Those pages point to the models being part of the manufacturer’s first 2027 announcements, while leaving their final styling and equipment open for now.
The Road King name has been away from the range for several years. Harley-Davidson last offered the standard Road King in 2022, while the Road King Special remained available through 2025. The previous Road King paired side cases and a windshield with the Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine. The Special used the larger Milwaukee-Eight 114 and took a more stripped-back direction without a windshield, described by Harley-Davidson as a “factory custom hot rod” look.
What the ST badge could mean
Motorcycle.com considers the Milwaukee-Eight 117 a likely choice for the Road King ST, as used by many of Harley-Davidson’s heavyweight models. The publication also points out that the cylinder-head cooling arrangement remains an open question. Road Glide and Street Glide use a small radiator low in the frame, disguised as a chin spoiler; integrating a similar solution into the more stripped-down Road King would make it less discreet.
The Road Glide ST and Street Glide ST last appeared outside the CVO range in 2023, before Harley-Davidson introduced its current touring platform. Motorcycle.com expects the 2027 versions to follow the CVO models’ general approach, while using a smaller, less powerful engine and leaving out the forged-carbon components. Their suspension is also expected to favour sharper performance than the standard Road Glide and Street Glide, which are tuned with long-distance comfort in mind.
Harley-Davidson has created 2027 accessory pages for all of its 2026 models, including the Deadwood and Super Glide. The company’s formal launch announcements should establish the final engine choices, equipment and styling of the three ST motorcycles.
