Jake Dixon believes Honda can fight for WorldSBK wins
Honda’s updated CBR1000RR-R brings new chassis and aerodynamic work, while Dixon sees a credible route back to victories.

Honda has made substantial changes to the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade for WorldSBK, and Jake Dixon believes the new package can put the manufacturer back in the fight for victories. The motorcycle was presented at EICMA in Milan with a new frame, a new swingarm and new bodywork built around revised aerodynamics. The engine has also received several smaller updates.
Dixon rode the new Fireblade at Jerez in late October and came away with a strongly positive first impression. He describes it as a major step from the previous version, which debuted in 2024. Aerodynamics are central to that assessment. Dixon says the earlier motorcycle had limited aerodynamic development, whereas the new machine has received much more work in this area.
That confidence is not a promise of immediate results. Dixon acknowledges that Honda and HRC still have considerable work ahead, with development set to progress step by step. His target is nevertheless unambiguous: he says that winning is both his own goal and Honda’s goal. The revised aero package and chassis give the Fireblade a different base to develop from, but their value will ultimately be measured by the bike’s performance in WorldSBK competition.
Dixon’s WorldSBK season is over, although another race may still be ahead of him. He is expected to replace Joan Mir at the Qatar MotoGP round after Mir’s vision problems reportedly returned following the Malaysian race. That possible appearance belongs to a different programme from Honda’s WorldSBK effort and remains a separate development for Dixon.
