Triumph hands its 2027 Supersport effort to Renegade
Renegade Triumph Factory Racing will campaign the new Street Triple 798 RS as the 765 RS steps aside for 2027.

Triumph has selected Renegade to run its factory entry in the 2027 FIM Supersport World Championship. The project will compete as Renegade Triumph Factory Racing, using the Street Triple 798 RS. The new model is set to replace the Street Triple 765 RS for the 2027 season.
Mark Griffiths founded Renegade, which arrived in the British Superbike paddock in 2002 and won the teams’ championship during its first season. The operation moved to World Superbike in 2004 with Noriyuki Haga and Leon Haslam on its rider roster. Haga then secured Renegade’s first WorldSBK victory at the season-opening meeting in Valencia.
A larger Triumph presence in Supersport
The new Renegade project will sit alongside PTR Triumph Racing, Triumph’s factory-backed team in the class for the last six years. PTR has raced the Street Triple 765 RS and recorded its first podium and race win with Stefano Manzi in 2022. The partnership has since added five more wins and 21 further podiums in the international series. Triumph is also retaining its support for Czech team Compos Racing.
The Street Triple 798 RS is scheduled to be presented on November 17 and will form the basis of the new campaign. Triumph developed the machine using data from its position as the Moto2 World Championship’s sole engine supplier, bringing experience from that programme into the racing project.
Griffiths said Triumph and Renegade had worked closely on the new Street Triple race bikes and that he was satisfied with the progress so far. The rider line-up for Renegade Triumph Factory Racing will be announced later.
