Alpinestars Supertech R7 brings track-ready features to a road helmet
The S-R7 combines a multi-composite shell, PLASMA technology, ECE 22.06 approval and adjustable fit for road riding and track days.

Alpinestars has added the Supertech R7, or S-R7, to its helmet range as a full-face model intended for road use and track days. Positioned below the Supertech R10, it combines a composite construction with impact-focused features, adjustable fit and an aerodynamic package aimed at riders who want one helmet for varied use.
Construction and rotational-impact measures
The shell is formed from carbon fibre, aramid and fibreglass joined with pre-preg epoxy resin. Alpinestars lists the helmet as homologated to ECE 22.06 and US DOT standards, with a claimed medium-size weight of 1,390g. The EPS liner is divided into seven sections and uses six densities. Three outer-shell sizes are used to accommodate different head dimensions.
PLASMA technology adds a low-friction surface intended to limit rotational forces during an impact. Alpinestars says the S-R7 exceeds the ECE 22.06 peak rotational-acceleration standard by 80 per cent. Recesses around the collarbone area house PLASMA inserts designed to absorb energy in an impact or slide, adding another element to the helmet’s protection concept.
Wind management, ventilation and fit
Development included wind-tunnel work, and the design incorporates an integrated rear spoiler plus lateral winglets intended to improve aerodynamic stability and reduce drag at speed. Airflow is handled by 10 openings: six intakes and four exhausts. Three vents sit in the chin area and three on top. The upper vent slides open to reveal three internal air channels, while the chin vents can also send air towards the visor to help limit fogging.
The Optical Class 1 visor is homologated to ECE 22.06 and receives anti-scratch treatment on both sides. Its quick-release mechanism works without tools, and a Pinlock 120 MaxVision anti-fog insert is included. Alpinestars’ A-Head system lets the rider alter helmet height and angle through a micro-adjustable pad connected to the EPS liner.
The removable, washable liner uses antimicrobial-treated fabrics. The cheek pads provide eyewear channels, an emergency-release system and provision for a hydration tube. The S-R7 is prepared for Alpinestars’ A-Connect system, including Mesh 3.0 intercom technology and Harman Kardon speakers.
European sales are handled through authorised Alpinestars dealers and online channels. The solid-colour range comprises matte black, gloss black, gloss grey and gloss white, while the graphic options are A-Core, Zeal, Kinetis and Lumen. The box includes a clear visor, Pinlock 120 MaxVision insert, breath deflector, chin curtain and storage bag.
