Continental replaces the ContiMotion with the sport-touring ContiMotion EVO
The successor adds revised carcass materials, EasyHandling and MultiGrip while targeting wet-weather grip, agility and long tread life.

Continental has unveiled the ContiMotion EVO, a new sport-touring motorcycle tyre positioned as the successor to the ContiMotion. Its brief covers everyday riding, weekend trips and longer tours, with an emphasis on responsive handling, dependable grip in both wet and dry conditions, and long tread life. The company describes it as a versatile option for riders who want a tyre that remains practical on daily routes without giving up agility on more demanding roads.
The EVO brings new carcass materials intended to increase stability and consistency, while updated compounds target performance on both wet and dry surfaces. Continental’s EasyHandling technology works with the revised construction to provide a predictable steering response and more agile direction changes. A hybrid silica tread compound is also part of the design, supporting the tyre’s wet- and dry-road grip. Continental says the new model improves key areas of the ContiMotion without abandoning the predecessor’s core qualities; Christoph Ettenhuber, Head of Business Field Motorcycle Tires at Continental, says the result is a tyre that feels noticeably more agile.
One compound, progressive grip
MultiGrip is central to the ContiMotion EVO’s approach to balancing cornering grip with mileage. Instead of using separate rubber compounds with a distinct step between them, the system applies a single tread compound whose grip characteristics change progressively from the centre towards the shoulders. Continental’s temperature-controlled curing process creates a more wear-resistant centre section for everyday use, while the shoulders remain more flexible to support grip when the motorcycle is leaned into a turn. The dedicated tread pattern and compound are intended to contribute to lasting performance, and the ZeroDegree steel-belt construction, together with the new carcass materials, is designed to support stability at higher speeds.
Motorcycles named by Continental
Continental places the ContiMotion EVO in the sport-touring segment, with applications among naked bikes, roadsters and modern classics. The motorcycles named by the company include the BMW R12 nineT, Triumph Daytona 660, Ducati Supersport 950, Honda CB 650R, Suzuki GSX-8TT and Yamaha MT-09. This is a representative list rather than a universal fitment statement, so the correct tyre size and application must be confirmed for the individual motorcycle before installation.
Continental also states that ContiMotion EVO and ContiMotion tyres can be combined. That compatibility claim does not remove the need to check the approved fitment for the specific motorcycle and tyre combination.
