WorldSBK Jerez: Bulega wins as the fight for fourth stays open
Nicolo Bulega reaches 30 wins in 2026, while Alex and Sam Lowes remain tied on 245 points.

Nicolo Bulega won Race 1 at the final round of the 2026 WorldSBK season at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto, securing his 30th victory of the year. The result does not reopen the title fight: the Italian had already clinched the championship in September at Cremona. Bulega now holds a 155-point advantage over Iker Lecuona.
Lecuona remains second in the standings and is 233 points clear of Yari Montella. The Barni Ducati rider secured third in the championship with his fourth-place finish at Jerez. While the champion’s position was already settled, the win adds another notable result to Bulega’s 2026 campaign.
The battle behind the top three
The unresolved championship contest is now the one for fourth place. Alex Lowes finished eighth in a Ducati-dominated Race 1 and is level with his brother Sam Lowes on 245 points. That tie carries into the Superpole Race, leaving the position open between the two riders.
Lorenzo Baldassarri is still within reach, 22 points behind the Lowes brothers. Two races remain before the season is complete, making fourth place the principal standings battle still to be decided during the remainder of the Jerez round.
