Amin Belechguer, 29, was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on 21 October 2026 after pleading guilty to offences connected with riding his supercharged Kawasaki Ninja H2. The case involved recordings from his GoPro and mobile phone, which were seized along with the motorcycle after he fled from police in 2025.

The camera footage added weight to the case by documenting the way Belechguer rode. He was shown travelling at more than twice the speed limit on motorways and through town centres, while 189mph is cited in the case headline. The recordings also featured wheelies, dangerous manoeuvres, red-light violations, races against other vehicles at car meets, and riding on pavements and across pedestrian crossings.

PC Daniel Goodman said that Belechguer reached three times the speed limit on some occasions. He also described repeated disregard for road markings, signs and traffic lights, alongside conduct that put other road users at risk.

The A20 pursuit

The incident that led to the arrest began on the A20 Ashford Road, heading towards Maidstone. A patrol car responding to another call, with its lights and sirens operating, encountered Belechguer as he pulled out in front of it. He turned towards the officers and waved, apparently trying to draw them into a pursuit.

The chase was brief, but his speed reportedly rose above 130mph. He crossed solid white lines and moved towards oncoming traffic over the blind brow of a hill. Officers then backed off to reduce the danger of a collision, while colleagues further along the road used a stinger device to puncture the Ninja H2’s tyres. Once the tyres deflated, Belechguer abandoned the motorcycle and tried to hide in nearby hedgerows.

The sentence includes a custodial term, although its length is not stated. The Ninja H2 will be permanently confiscated, and Belechguer will face a 10-year driving ban after his release. The case also illustrates how an onboard camera can document not just speed, but a repeated pattern of dangerous behaviour that became central to the conviction.
