Norton 450 opens a new chapter with A2-friendly performance
The new 450 pairs a 454cc single-cylinder engine with premium equipment and two versions, due in the first half of 2027.

Norton is expanding its range with a new 450, unveiled at EICMA in Milan and expected to reach the market during the first half of 2027. Its final name has not yet been announced, so the motorcycle is currently referred to as the Norton 450 urban. It marks the company’s first move into the small-capacity roadster class since its revival under TVS, with a clear objective: bring Norton to more riders without abandoning the premium positioning that defines the marque.
TVS Motor has owned Norton since 2020. Sudarshan Venu, TVS Motor’s chairman and managing director, presents the new motorcycle as a way to widen the brand’s audience rather than simply pursue volume. Norton nevertheless continues to target annual global sales of around 20,000 motorcycles. The 450 is intended to carry Norton’s focus on design, dynamism and attention to detail into a more urban and approachable format.
A 454cc single with premium hardware
The Norton 450 uses a 454cc single-cylinder engine with a claimed output of 46bhp and 33lb.ft of torque. It is compatible with the A2 licence category, but its equipment goes well beyond the bare essentials associated with an entry-level roadster. The specification includes an aluminium frame, adjustable KYB suspension, cornering ABS, cruise control and an eight-inch colour TFT display.
Two versions are planned on the same technical foundation, separated by their styling and ergonomics. That gives Norton room to offer different riding positions and visual identities without creating two unrelated motorcycles. The company also presents the 450 as a modern interpretation of its single-cylinder heritage. Manageable proportions and premium equipment are intended to make it relevant to riders across different age groups.
Production is planned for TVS’s Hosur facility in India, while sales are intended for international markets. The 450 is part of a broader Norton expansion programme covering a larger dealer network, increased production and further growth in Europe, alongside planned entry into India and the United States in 2027. The initial deliveries of the Manx R and Atlas are being treated as a period of adjustment for the brand and its network before that next stage begins.
