Honda V3R 900 E-Compressor takes its next step
Honda’s planned production version pairs a liquid-cooled V3 with an electronically controlled compressor, titanium components and expanded RoadSync functions.
Honda has presented the planned production version of the V3R 900 E-Compressor at EICMA in Milan. The motorcycle follows the prototype shown at the same event a year earlier and retains much of that machine’s design direction, but the project has now moved beyond a simple technology display toward a production-oriented form.
A V3 with independently controlled intake compression
The V3R is built around a liquid-cooled V3 engine and an electronically controlled compressor. The system regulates intake-air compression independently of engine speed, unlike an exhaust-driven turbocharger or an engine-driven mechanical supercharger. Honda says the aim is to provide immediate torque from low rpm, while positioning the overall performance alongside that of a motorcycle powered by a 1200cc engine.
Reducing mass is another part of the production design. The fuel tank, exhaust pipes and muffler are made from titanium. These components give the V3R a distinct technical identity while supporting Honda’s effort to keep the motorcycle’s weight under control.
RoadSync moves into a new phase
The V3R 900 E-Compressor will also introduce an evolved form of Honda’s RoadSync technology. Honda describes it as a human-machine interface intended to make operation more intuitive, and says the motorcycle will add integrated functions supported by artificial intelligence. The company plans to bring both connected features to other compatible models in the future.
Development of the motorcycle is still continuing. Honda will provide the timing for mass production, the technical specifications and availability details in future updates, leaving the production schedule and final equipment list to be defined later.
