Honda Rebel 2027: E-Clutch for the CMX500, upgrades for the CMX1100
The CMX500 gains Honda E-Clutch and a round 3.5-inch TFT, while the larger Rebels receive engine, ergonomic and electronics updates.

Honda is carrying the Rebel family into the 2027 model year with separate updates for its two main engine sizes. The CMX500 Rebel gains Honda E-Clutch, allowing the rider to pull away, stop and shift without operating the clutch lever. That change is especially relevant to everyday riding, where repeated starts and gear changes are part of the routine rather than an occasional requirement.
The CMX500 also receives a round, colour TFT display with a 3.5-inch high-resolution screen, along with revised switches. Honda is refreshing the colour range of both the CMX500 Rebel and CMX1100 Rebel for 2027. The CMX500 has been part of the market since 2017, while the larger CMX1100 joined the family in 2021.
What changes on the CMX1100
The CMX1100 Rebel, CMX1100T Rebel and CMX1100SE Rebel retain their 1,084 cc twin-cylinder engine. For 2027, Honda says the engine produces more torque in the low and mid ranges, as well as higher power. The version equipped with the dual-clutch DCT transmission has also been revised for improved operation at low speeds, an update aimed at slow manoeuvres and urban traffic.
The larger Rebels gain a new 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity through Honda RoadSync, a USB-C port and Throttle By Wire. Their electronics package includes three preset riding modes, two USER modes, three-level Honda Selectable Torque Control and cruise control. Honda also says the CMX500 has been Europe’s best-selling custom motorcycle every year since 2021. Across Europe, CMX sales have exceeded 67,000 motorcycles, while the CMX1100 versions have passed 16,500 sales over the past six years.
