Honda has published Indian pricing for the CB500, creating the first useful reference point for anyone wondering what a possible GB500S might cost in the UK. The alloy-wheel version starts at ₹275,000, equivalent to around £2,160. The range moves to ₹299,900 for the tubeless wire-spoke model, while the top version, with spoked wheels and pinstriping, costs ₹301,900.

That Indian figure should not be treated as a direct forecast of a British retail price. Taxes, homologation, shipping and each market’s positioning can all change the final number. The Indian prices are therefore valuable mainly as a guide to the motorcycle’s starting point in its home market, rather than as a ready-made European price list.

A 501cc single with the GB recipe

The CB500 is powered by a 501cc single-cylinder engine with both air and oil cooling. Visordown reports output of around 28bhp and 43.3Nm. Its brief is clearly different from that of a high-revving performance motorcycle: the emphasis is on usable torque, straightforward engineering and road manners. In that respect, the CB500 follows the same broad idea as the GB350S, combining classic roadster styling with a simple single-cylinder layout.

Honda is also using the paintwork to separate the three versions. The alloy-wheel model is available in Pearl Igneous Black and Pearl Deep Ground Gray. Buyers choosing the tubeless spoke-wheel version get Rebel Red Metallic 2 or Mat Steel Silver Metallic. The range-topping model uses Pearl Igneous Black with contrasting stripes.

The calculation behind the UK figure

Honda already uses the GB350S name in Europe and has registered GB500S in European markets. Together with the CB500’s styling and engine concept, that gives the larger name a plausible place in the range. It does not confirm that the Indian motorcycle will be exported, or that a European GB500S has been announced.

Visordown’s estimate starts with the GB350S. When that model launched in India, it was priced at ₹195,200. The European-specification version subsequently arrived in the UK at £3,949, producing a relationship of approximately 2.58 to one between the two prices. Applying that multiplier to the CB500’s ₹275,000 Indian starting price gives a mathematical estimate of roughly £5,570.

Rounded off, that points towards a UK GB500S at about £5,500 if Honda followed a similar pricing relationship. It is a calculation, not a leaked or confirmed Honda price. The figure would sit above the GB350S, which is currently listed at £3,999 in the UK, although the eventual gap would depend on Honda’s pricing strategy and the requirements of each market. Honda UK did not comment to Visordown when asked about a possible GB500S addition to its European line-up. For now, the CB500 has confirmed pricing only in India, while the GB500S remains a plausible but unconfirmed possibility.
