Harley-Davidson Athens has presented the Sprint 440 in the Greek market. The single-cylinder cruiser is positioned as an approachable everyday motorcycle for new riders, people returning to motorcycling and more experienced users alike. The Sprint name is also part of Harley-Davidson’s history: it first appeared in the company’s range in 1961.

Cruiser proportions, three colour choices

The Sprint 440 uses familiar cruiser design cues, including a distinctive fuel tank, a short rear fender and a fastback seat. Its appearance is set apart by an orange chequered graphic on the tank, while the side cover carries the Harley Hare character, a reference to the motorcycle’s agility. The available colours are Dark Billiard Gray, Vivid Black and Teal Thunder.

440-cubic-centimetre engine with A2-friendly output

An air-and-oil-cooled 440-cubic-centimetre single-cylinder engine supplies 27 hp at 6,000 rpm and 38 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Its hardware includes a single overhead camshaft, two valves, electronic fuel injection and a balancer shaft. Power reaches the rear wheel through a six-speed gearbox, with sixth gear serving as an overdrive ratio. An assist-and-slipper clutch is fitted to make lever operation lighter and downshifts smoother.

Combined fuel consumption is listed at 3.1 litres per 100 kilometres, while the fuel tank holds 9 litres. The 27 hp output is approximately 20 kW, placing the motorcycle below the 35 kW limit for the A2 licence category.

Low seat and detailed chassis specification

Seat height is 671 millimetres and the seat has a narrow profile, a combination intended to make ground contact easier. Running weight is 189 kilograms. Up front, the motorcycle uses a 43-millimetre upside-down fork with a dual-cartridge design and 130 millimetres of travel. The rear suspension consists of twin shocks with external reservoirs, seven preload settings and 76 millimetres of wheel travel.

Braking hardware comprises a 320-millimetre front disc with a two-piston caliper and a 240-millimetre rear disc with a single-piston caliper. ABS is standard. The ten-spoke cast aluminium wheels measure 19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear, with 100/90-19 and 150/60ZR17 tyres respectively. Standard equipment also includes a 3.5-inch colour TFT display, LED lighting and a USB-C port.

The genuine accessory range includes Throw-Over Saddlebags with a combined capacity of 7 litres, a Sissy Bar with backrest pad and a clear windscreen. Buyers can also choose Reach, Tallboy and Brawler Solo Seat options, along with Willie G Skull accessories, a Moto Handlebar and a steel engine guard.
