Adventure scooters are no longer just a styling exercise. EICMA 2026 shows a lively segment covering a wide span, from small urban 125s to maxi scooters with engines, chassis and technical solutions drawn from the motorcycle world. Eight different and distinctive approaches stand out at the show.

The adventure label does not mean the same thing for every design. Some manufacturers put most of their emphasis on appearance, while others seek a balance between everyday practicality and occasional travel away from paved roads. The named examples include the Honda ADV125, Yamaha RW700 and 552G.

More than tyres and a tall windscreen

The more significant change is technical. This category is not defined only by semi-knobbly tyres and a tall windscreen: some manufacturers are also working on the transmission, chassis, suspension and ergonomics. The aim is to bring scooter operation closer to motorcycle thinking without abandoning the qualities that make a scooter useful.

That approach makes the dividing line between the two vehicle types less distinct and broadens the roles these scooters might serve. The real test will come when the pavement ends, revealing which machines can support their more ambitious promises in practice. For now, EICMA 2026 presents a product family with more interpretations and clearer technical differences than a simple adventure look would suggest.
