Aston Martin and Brough Superior have revealed the AMB 002 Roadster, the partnership’s first road-legal motorcycle. The new model moves away from the track-only focus of the two machines that preceded it and is intended for road use. Production will be limited to 300 examples, each individually built.

The AMB 002 follows the turbocharged AMB 001, released in 2019 in a 100-unit run, and the AMB 001 Pro, launched in 2022. The latter was quoted at 221.9bhp from a machined version of the 997cc V-twin, with production limited to 88 motorcycles. Both predecessors were track-only machines; according to the companies, the new Roadster is aimed at discerning road riders and automotive collectors.

A new V-twin and titanium structure

The AMB 002 Roadster is powered by an all-new 1083cc four-stroke, water-cooled V-twin. Claimed output is 130bhp and 81.2lb.ft of torque. Brough Superior designs, machines and assembles the engine at its Toulouse headquarters, using CNC-machined billet engine cases. Their construction is intended to reduce weight while delivering structural efficiency.

The engine sits inside a billet-titanium frame that forms the motorcycle’s structural spine and weighs 5kg. The companies quote a 50:50 weight distribution. Carbon-fibre bodywork and a carbon-fibre fuel tank are intended to keep the centre of gravity low, while quoted kerb weight is 190kg.

Fior front suspension and Aston Martin cues

Front suspension uses Brough Superior’s double-wishbone Fior fork, an evolution of the system first developed for the AMB 001 Pro. The layout separates steering and braking forces while maintaining control of the front-end geometry. Its anti-dive characteristics are said to provide extra stability under braking, including when the motorcycle is leaned over.

The styling brings together details from both companies. Carbon fibre is also used for the side fairings, while crescent-shaped gills in the flanks are intended to aid engine cooling. An Aston Martin-inspired side-strake runs through the fairing and around the headlamp. The twin oval exhausts have a ribbed finish similar to that of the Vanquish, DB12 S and DBX S. At the rear, the light blades use a design also seen on the Vulcan, Valkyrie and Valhalla.

Marek Reichman said the AMB 002 represents the long-term vision of an Aston Martin motorcycle for the road. Thierry Henriette described it as a combination of strong dynamic character, distinctive design and an upright riding position. Initial orders are being taken now, with deliveries expected to begin in the third quarter of 2027. No price has been announced.
