2026 Vespa Edizione Ottantesimo brings numbered GTS 310 special edition
Limited to 1,946 numbered scooters worldwide, the anniversary model combines the GTS 310 platform with heritage-inspired graphics and matching accessories.

Piaggio has unveiled the 2026 Vespa Edizione Ottantesimo, a special-edition scooter marking the brand’s 80th anniversary. The model takes its name—literally “80th edition”—and was presented at the Vespa Days event in Rome. Global production is limited to 1,946 numbered units, with 25 allocated to the United States.
The Edizione Ottantesimo is based largely on the existing Vespa GTS 310 rather than introducing a substantially different mechanical package. Its load-bearing steel body is paired with a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 310 HPE engine. Piaggio claims 25 horsepower, while the engine meets Euro 5+ emissions requirements. A CVT transmission, ABS anti-lock braking and ASR electronic traction control are standard.
Equipment includes keyless ignition, full LED lighting and a 5-inch color TFT display with access to the Vespa MIA connectivity system. The scooter also uses hydraulic disc brakes. Courtesy lights are positioned at the rear of the leg shield and inside the under-seat compartment, adding illumination to two practical storage and access areas.
An anniversary treatment based on Vespa history
The main stated differences from the English-language 310 model mentioned in the article are the Edizione Ottantesimo’s paint and graphics. Green appears on the saddle and 12-inch cast-wheel rims, a combination presented as a reference to Vespa’s early single-color models. The wheel design, meanwhile, recalls the pressed sheet-metal rims fitted to the 1946 Vespa 98.
A three-dimensional number-80 graphic is placed on both sides of the scooter, using the same green as the other anniversary accents. Piaggio says the graphic’s hexagonal form is intended to echo a bolt, while also presenting the bolt-like logo shape as a reference to Vespa craftsmanship. A numbered commemorative plaque is attached inside the under-seat compartment.
The saddle has the appearance of a single sporty seat, but the color-matched rear cowling can be removed or swapped to accommodate a passenger. The article states that the scooter can comfortably carry two riders. Piaggio also says the model can be fitted with accessories, including a color-matched top box, luggage racks, side bars, fairings and windscreens.
Matching helmet and Assouline book
The special-edition package includes a dedicated jet-style helmet matched to the scooter’s livery. Its textured grey upper section carries green accents, while the rear features a number-80 graphic that matches the scooter’s design. The matching helmets are expected to receive DOT approval and to become available in the US market;
The model also includes an Assouline coffee-table book containing Vespa images and rare material from the Piaggio archives. The Edizione Ottantesimo can be ordered online through edizioneottantesimo.vespa.com. Piaggio lists a US MSRP of $12,000. It expects units to appear in December 2026, but that timing is presented as an expectation rather than a confirmed delivery date.
