Honda CB1000F takes the UK Modern Classic lead
The CB1000F recorded 123 September registrations as the UK motorcycle market grew for a ninth consecutive month.

Honda’s CB1000F led the UK Modern Classic category in September with 123 registrations, ending the Honda GB350S’s lengthy spell at the top. The result adds to a strong run for Honda’s CB1000 family: the CB1000 Hornet headed the naked class for much of 2025, while the CB1000GT topped Adventure in July, its first month on sale.
The CB1000F uses styling that looks back to Honda’s 1979 CB750F and draws influence from Freddie Spencer’s AMA racing appearances. Its category win came during a ninth consecutive month of growth for the UK new motorcycle market, giving Honda a notable result within an already expanding market.
September market figures
September registrations totalled 12,111 motorcycles, up 6.8% from the same month last year. The year-to-date total reached 87,685, representing a 14.4% increase. Competition motorcycles delivered the sharpest monthly rise, up 27.1%, while naked bikes gained 14.3%.
Honda was the leading brand with 2,159 registrations, ahead of BMW on 1,256 and Triumph on 1,001. The BMW R1300GS was the month’s best-selling model overall, with 201 registrations, and led Adventure. Honda’s PCX125 topped Scooters on 272, while the CB125F led Naked on 206. The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 headed Custom, BMW’s S1000RR led Road Sport and the R1300RT led Touring. Honda’s CB1000GT also remained the best seller in the 751-1000cc capacity band, with 143 registrations.
Tony Campbell, MCIA chief executive, called September an important month for the full-year market because it is the second-largest month of the year. He also renewed the organisation’s request for government action on rider licensing, arguing that mopeds, motorcycles and other L-Category vehicles should form part of a properly integrated travel system.
