BMW R1300 GS returns to the top of the UK adventure market
With 201 sales in September, the R1300 GS became the first adventure model above 200 units since March.

The BMW R1300 GS reclaimed first place in the UK adventure category in September 2026, recording 201 sales. It was the first adventure model to pass 200 units in a month since March, when the same motorcycle reached 309 sales.
The R1300 GS had also led the category in June, with 168 units. Honda’s CB1000GT then moved ahead in July and August, selling 141 and 164 motorcycles respectively. BMW’s September result therefore puts the R1300 GS back at the front after two months in which Honda held the category lead.
BMW, Honda and Royal Enfield also lead elsewhere
BMW’s presence extended beyond adventure. The S1000 RR was September’s best seller in Road Sport, the Motorcycle Industry Association’s name for the sportbike category, with 66 sales. Honda’s CB125F topped the naked class, while the CB1000F led the modern classic category.
Royal Enfield took the Custom lead with its Super Meteor 650, which recorded 58 sales. BMW also finished first in touring, where the R1300 RT reached 85 units. The September rankings consequently show several manufacturers at the head of different categories, while BMW stood out with leading models in adventure, sport and touring.
