The Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro reached the podium at the 2026 Red Bull Romaniacs, the 23rd edition of the Hard Enduro Rally. Sam Sunderland finished second in Adventure Core in 11:32:29, while Jonny Walker took sixth in Adventure Ultimate with a time of 14:37:31. Ivan Cervantes made a competitive start but retired after the second offroad day when his motorcycle was damaged.

The result is notable because all three riders competed on Tiger 900 Rally Pro motorcycles that remained close to showroom specification, with only a few modifications for the demands of Romaniacs. That does not make an adventure motorcycle equivalent to a purpose-built enduro machine, but it shows the level at which Triumph chose to test the platform, from the streets of Sibiu to the event’s mountain trails.

Sunderland’s fight for second

Sunderland moved up to the more demanding Adventure Core class after winning Adventure Lite in 2025. His event began with 13th place in the Prologue. He changed the picture on Offroad Day One, however, setting the fastest time by more than one minute and taking the class lead.

The second offroad day brought a setback when damage to the chain and its adjuster cost him time. Sunderland still finished second for the day and retained his advantage in the standings. He then placed inside the top five on each of the final two offroad days, securing second in Adventure Core behind CFMOTO rider Rene Columna, who won in 11:20:47.

Sunderland also described a further problem on the final day. A small crash in the dust broke his clutch lever, and he continued using the clutch cable. In his account, that made the remainder of the stage particularly difficult. Despite the setback, he completed the event as runner-up.

Walker sixth, Cervantes forced to retire

Two-time Red Bull Romaniacs winner Jonny Walker entered Adventure Ultimate. He was 15th in the Prologue and finished seventh in its final run. His first two offroad results were fifth and seventh, followed by fourth on Offroad Day Three and fifth on the final day. That sequence gave him sixth overall in 14:37:31. Mario Roman won the class for CFMOTO in 13:27:30, ahead of Pol Tarres on Yamaha and Dieter Rudolf on KTM.

Cervantes began with third place in the Prologue and fourth on Offroad Day One, ending the opening day 20 seconds from third place. Damage to his motorcycle on Offroad Day Two ended his challenge. In a statement, Cervantes said he felt he had the pace to fight for a podium, but he could not continue the event.

The listed Tiger 900 Rally Pro specification includes Triumph Shift Assist, six riding modes, heated seats and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System. The stated starting price is $17,395.00. The figure is given in dollars, with no market or Greek availability specified. A Romaniacs result is not proof of performance in every road-going situation, but completing this event with limited modifications provides a demanding demonstration of the platform’s potential in extreme offroad conditions.
