The Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE takes a starring role in Matchbox The Movie, a new live-action film built around the world of the well-known toy. The motorcycle appears throughout the production and takes part in a demanding action sequence, rather than serving as a brief background prop. The film is scheduled for a global premiere on Apple TV on October 9, 2026.

The story follows a group of childhood friends whose lives are disrupted by the return of their former leader. John Cena plays Sean, who is now an undercover CIA agent and draws the group into a high-stakes mission to save the world from annihilation. Within that adventure, the Scrambler 1200 XE holds one of the film’s prominent vehicle roles alongside the human cast.

The film’s release is accompanied by a behind-the-scenes documentary focused on how the Scrambler 1200 XE was used during production. Nick Bell, Triumph’s Chief Marketing Officer, links the motorcycle’s selection to its off-road capability and timeless Bonneville-inspired design. Those characteristics help explain its place in the film’s more demanding sequences, where the motorcycle is part of the action rather than simply a visual extra.

This is not the Scrambler 1200 XE’s first significant film appearance. The motorcycle previously featured in No Time to Die, and now returns in a different production where vehicles are central to the adventure. The new role gives Triumph’s Scrambler 1200 XE another substantial presence in contemporary action cinema.
