More than 50 Suzuki V-Strom 650XT motorcycles were supplied to state and municipal security bodies in Brazil. The programme was handled by J Toledo da Amazônia Indústria e Comércio de Veículos LTDA, Suzuki’s official distributor in the country, which operates as Suzuki Motos do Brazil. The motorcycles were customised in March and April 2022 by Suzuki Motos do Brazil and its authorised dealers: 2 Wheel in Campo Grande, Nova Suzuki in São Paulo and Wind Motos in Maceió.

The military police of São Paulo state received 37 motorcycles. Alagoas state police took 10, while the municipal guards of Dourados received six V-Strom 650XTs. This was a 2022 procurement, not a current-year delivery announcement.

Why the V-Strom was selected

Suzuki presents the model as suited to the day-to-day work of security personnel, citing its performance on wet roads and through twisty sections, as well as its ability to cover long distances. The features highlighted include easy handling, traction control, a 20 L tank and low fuel consumption. According to the company’s presentation, those characteristics support autonomy and help lower operating costs.

What the representatives said

Jonathan Duarte, owner of the 2 Wheel dealership, stressed the importance of renewing public-service equipment so professionals can work more efficiently and safely. Elias Oliveira, secretary of public security for Alagoas, said the high-capacity motorcycles would provide faster movement and greater agility at work. Ismael da Silva, coordinator of Dourados’ Motorized Ostensive Round, said the new models improve performance and increase the safety of his teams.

Suzuki Motos do Brazil says it has three decades of service in Brazil’s growing market. The procurement illustrates the role the company assigns to the V-Strom 650XT in motorcycle-based security patrols, while providing no information about pricing or availability in Greece.
