Kawasaki is moving to a six-year manufacturer’s warranty for its road motorcycles in Europe. The cover applies to potential manufacturing defects arising after purchase and replaces the company’s previous four-year warranty. In practical terms, the warranty period is 50 per cent longer than before.

The scheme covers the full 2027 range, along with new motorcycles already held by Kawasaki’s European dealer network, provided they have not yet been warranty registered. Selected dealerships have already begun applying the six-year term, while the rollout to other European dealers is scheduled to continue until the beginning of 2027.

Models covered and Kawasaki’s reasoning

The models named in the coverage include the Versys 900, Ninja ZX-10R, Ninja 650, Ninja ZX-6R, Z1100 and Z900. The change concerns the length of manufacturer support, not the equipment or technical specifications of the motorcycles themselves.

Shigemi Tanaka, Managing Director of Kawasaki Motors Europe, said the company’s customer-service records suggest that the vast majority of owners will probably never need to rely on the warranty. He also described the revised policy as a sign of Kawasaki’s confidence in the quality and durability of the products sold by its official European dealers.

The six-year term is a substantial improvement on Kawasaki’s previous arrangement, although it remains shorter than Suzuki’s 10-year warranty, described as an industry-leading offer.
