EICMA 2026: visitors weigh the trends and the drawbacks
Chinese brands, adventure and sportbikes are attracting attention, while crowding and audience behavior remain points of concern.

EICMA 2026 in Milan is being experienced in different ways. Some visitors arrive with one particular motorcycle in mind, others want to discover unfamiliar brands, and many simply see the show as a day spent immersed in motorcycling. Their reactions point to the categories drawing attention, as well as the practical and social issues that can shape a visit.
The growing presence of Chinese and other Asian manufacturers is one of the clearest themes. Many visitors acknowledge progress in design and a broader range of products. Some say they once approached Chinese motorcycles with suspicion but now value the originality found in certain models. Established major brands, however, remain strong attractions, with their most anticipated premieres drawing crowds and long queues.
The exhibition offers plenty of room for different preferences, from sport and adventure motorcycles to maxi-enduros, scooters and custom machines. Some visitors were most interested in the latest adventure models, while others focused on sportbikes and new technologies. For part of the audience, seeing a motorcycle in person reveals details that photographs and videos cannot fully convey. Electric motorcycles remain divisive, with some visitors openly saying they prefer to stay with petrol engines.
More than a display of motorcycles
Crowding is the most consistent complaint. Getting to the major stands and taking a calm look at the motorcycles attracting the most interest can require patience. Other visitors, by contrast, praised the event’s organization, order and security, showing that the physical experience of the show is not judged in one uniform way.
There is also a more troubling element to the atmosphere. Women working at the stands described inappropriate comments and unwanted approaches, making clear that visitor behavior is part of the experience too. EICMA cannot provide one motorcycle or one trend that satisfies everyone. Its broader appeal lies in allowing people to see the model they came for up close, while leaving room for an unexpected discovery among the brands and machines on display.
