Honda V3R 900RR: a possible CBR600RR successor with a V3
Honda is reportedly considering a naturally aspirated supersport of about 900cc, based on the platform of the V3R 900 E-Compressor.

Honda is reportedly considering a new supersport of about 900cc as a replacement for the CBR600RR. The motorcycle is expected to use the same V3 platform as the upcoming V3R 900 E-Compressor, although the supersport version is thought to use a naturally aspirated engine without the E-Compressor system. V3R 900RR is the expected name, but neither the model nor its designation has been confirmed.
Output estimates put the possible V3 900 at 120 to 130 hp, or roughly 118 to 128 bhp. That would place Honda’s proposed machine close to the category’s current reference points: the Yamaha R9 is listed with claimed output of 87.5 kW or 117.3 bhp at 10,000 rpm, while the Ducati Panigale V2 is listed at 118.3 bhp at 10,750 rpm. These figures remain estimates for a motorcycle that has not yet been confirmed.
There is also a racing angle to the possible replacement. The CBR600RR competes against the R9 and Panigale V2 in the World Supersport Championship, so a more powerful V3R 900RR could become Honda’s new dedicated racing base for the class. Honda first showed the V3R 900 E-Compressor at EICMA 2025, and with its launch approaching, this year’s EICMA could also be chosen for the supersport version’s unveiling.
