BSA Gold Star 650 adds Birmingham Blue and Brooklands Black
Two new colour schemes take the Gold Star 650’s range to eight options, each drawing on a different part of BSA’s history.

BSA has added two special-edition colour schemes to the Gold Star 650, bringing the model’s total choice of colours to eight. Birmingham Blue and Brooklands Black use different references from the company’s history, while retaining the motorcycle’s established engine specification.
Birmingham Blue looks to BSA’s birthplace
Birmingham Blue is the direct historical reference of the pair. BSA was founded in Birmingham in 1919, and development of the 2021 Gold Star also took place in the city. The blue finish covers the fuel tank, side panels and both mudguards. White lines across the tank and side panels add a traditional visual detail to the otherwise vivid colour scheme.
Brooklands Black brings the racing reference
Brooklands Black takes its visual direction from BSA’s racing heritage. The fuel tank combines a chrome finish with gold lines, while the lower sections and side panels are painted black. Chrome is used again for the front and rear mudguards, producing a sharply contrasting mix of bright metal, gold detailing and dark bodywork.
Both versions use the Gold Star’s liquid-cooled 652 cc single-cylinder engine. It produces 45 hp at 6,500 rpm and 40.5 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. The Gold Star name refers to BSA models from the 1950s and early 1960s, while the company has been owned by Mahindra since October 2016. The new finishes therefore add visual distinction without changing the model’s central historical positioning.
