Honda has revealed the 2027 SH Mode 125, with the revision aimed at everyday usability, appearance and rider information rather than mechanical performance. Its main upgrade is a 4.2-inch full-colour TFT display, replacing the traditional analogue instruments and adding a fuel gauge and clock.

The scooter’s appearance changes through a redesigned front fascia and an updated exhaust protective cover. Honda also expands the colour range with Pearl Nostalgic Green and Vanilla White, alongside the existing Candy Luster Red and Matt Galaxy Black Metallic finishes.

Practicality receives a useful boost as well. The left glovebox now contains a USB Type-C socket, while the 18.5-litre under-seat compartment includes hooks for securing luggage. The seat height remains 765 mm.

Engine and chassis hardware

The SH Mode 125 carries over its liquid-cooled, four-valve SOHC eSP+ engine without mechanical changes. Honda claims 11.6 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 8.8 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm. Suspension consists of 31 mm telescopic forks with 89 mm of travel and a rear unit with five-position spring-preload adjustment and 75 mm of travel.

The cast-aluminium wheels measure 16 inches at the front and 14 inches at the rear. Nissin braking hardware combines a 220 mm hydraulic front disc with a single-piston caliper and a 130 mm rear disc with a drum caliper through CBS.

The SH Mode 125 has been sold in Europe since 2014. Visordown reports that more than 152,000 units of the 125cc scooter have been sold across Europe over 12 years, and describes a major update in 2021 followed by a light refresh in 2024. Pricing for the 2027 model has not been confirmed.
