Marc Márquez’s farewell to Jack Miller comes with history
Miller is closing his MotoGP chapter and will join factory Yamaha in WorldSBK for 2027.

Jack Miller will bring his Grand Prix career to a close at the end of the season, with his next move already set: he will race in WorldSBK for the factory Yamaha squad in 2027. The four-time MotoGP race winner lost his Pramac seat to Izan Guevara, who was coming from Moto2.
The Australian Grand Prix was Miller’s final MotoGP appearance on home soil. He scored points in the sprint, but bad weather led to the cancellation of the main race. A video was put together for the occasion, with riders sharing memories of Miller as he prepares to leave the premier class.
From Moto3 rivalry to friendship
Marc Márquez used his message to revisit the roots of their relationship. He said he began to “hate” Miller in 2014, when the Australian was competing against Márquez’s brother Alex in Moto3. Over time, however, Márquez said he came to know the person behind the rivalry, and the two now have a very good relationship. The Spaniard is a seven-time world champion.
Their shared history also includes a memorable wet-weather result. At the 2016 Dutch Grand Prix, Márquez finished second behind Miller, who claimed his maiden MotoGP victory as a Marc VDS Honda rider. It remains one of the clearest competitive landmarks in the relationship recalled by Márquez.
Pecco Bagnaia, Miller’s MotoGP teammate between 2019 and 2022, remembered how much it meant to him to share podiums with the Australian and said that everyone in the paddock would miss him. Toprak Razgatlioglu offered a more personal memory: while racing in the Rookies Cup, he suffered a major crash in Britain and Miller was the only person who asked whether he was all right. The messages frame Miller’s departure as more than a championship switch, connecting the move to the relationships formed throughout his MotoGP career.
