Mandalika: Bezzecchi leads after red-flagged practice
The Aprilia rider set the pace on Saturday as Razgatlioglu’s highside interrupted the session before Q1.

Marco Bezzecchi placed Aprilia at the top of the final Saturday practice session at Mandalika ahead of qualifying for the 2026 Indonesian Grand Prix. Raul Fernandez was second, followed by Marc Marquez in third on the Ducati. Fabio di Giannantonio and Jorge Martin completed the top five.
The session was halted by red flags ten minutes after the start when Toprak Razgatlioglu suffered a heavy highside. His right shoulder was reportedly dislocated and returned to position before he made his way back to the pits. His prospects for the remainder of the weekend were still uncertain.
Qualifying reference points and title pressure
Q1 is next for the riders who were outside Friday’s top ten, including Ai Ogura and Fermin Aldeguer. Raul Fernandez’s 1:28.725 on an Aprilia remains Mandalika’s best lap, while the circuit’s fastest race lap is Aldeguer’s 1:30.499 for Ducati in 2025.
The championship context adds weight to the session. Marc Marquez claimed both victories at Motegi and reduced Jorge Martin’s lead to two points. Bezzecchi finished third in Japan and had won Indonesia’s 2025 Sprint from pole before colliding with Marquez in the Grand Prix. The reigning champion then missed the rest of the season with shoulder injuries. Fermin Aldeguer won that Indonesian Grand Prix, while Marquez finished sixth in the Sprint after a long-lap penalty.
Honda also has a temporary rider change for the event. Aleix Espargaro, an HRC test rider, replaces Joan Mir at the factory team for the first time this season. The change follows Somkiat Chantra’s return to WorldSBK and Takaaki Nakagami’s injury.
