Four MotoGP bikes are scheduled to appear at Circuit of the Americas in Austin during the United States Formula 1 Grand Prix. The riders will be Dani Pedrosa, a 31-time MotoGP winner, reigning World Superbike champion Nicolo Bulega, and MotoGP test riders Andrea Dovizioso and Lorenzo Savadori.

The demonstration is set for Saturday 24 October, running from 11:40am to 12:00pm local time before Formula 1’s final practice session. It gives the COTA crowd a chance to see premier-class machinery in a non-race setting, including bikes capable of exceeding 225 mph. Even a short appearance should make the contrast between the two forms of top-level circuit racing immediately clear.

The event is also significant for the audience it can reach. Around 400,000 spectators are expected at COTA across the weekend, while Formula 1 and MotoGP now sit under Liberty Media after the company completed its €4.2 billion acquisition of MotoGP in 2024. MotoGP’s own round is taking place in Australia on the same weekend, giving the COTA appearance an especially clear promotional role for the championship.

Pedrosa has described riding a MotoGP bike at COTA as a special experience, pointing to the speed, sound and performance that are best understood from trackside. Bulega views the run as a way to place MotoGP in front of one of motorsport’s largest audiences, ahead of his expected move to VR46 in 2027. The demonstration is also expected to be the first of further events linking the two championships in the years ahead.
