Fermin Aldeguer cleared for Qatar MotoGP return
The Gresini rider is fit for the weekend after fracturing his right hand, while Iker Lecuona takes Alex Marquez’s place.

Fermin Aldeguer has been passed fit to return to MotoGP in Qatar after fracturing his right hand at Mandalika. The Gresini rider is set to rejoin the field for the weekend, following another interruption in a season marked by a succession of injuries.
The Mandalika crash was Aldeguer’s third significant injury of the year. A fractured femur had previously kept him out of pre-season testing and the opening Thai round. He then missed three races after breaking a vertebra at Assen. Before the flyaway events began, the Spaniard also underwent surgery to have metalwork removed from his left leg.
Gresini’s Qatar rider line-up
Iker Lecuona filled in for Aldeguer at the previous two rounds and will remain with Gresini in Qatar. This time, he will take Alex Marquez’s place on a factory-spec GP26. Marquez has had surgery to remove metalwork from his collarbone and hand, as well as a procedure on his right shoulder. Aprilia riders Jorge Martin and Raul Fernandez are also expected to be passed fit for a return this weekend.
