Shark SKWAL iCUP brings an active brake light without bike connectivity
Shark’s new full-face helmet combines autonomous brake lighting with ECE 22.06 approval and a 329.99-euro price in Dark Shadow trim.
Shark has introduced the SKWAL iCUP at EICMA 2026, a full-face helmet whose rear spoiler doubles as an active visibility feature. Its vertical light signature stays discreet when switched off, glows red while the helmet is moving and becomes more intense during hard braking or sudden deceleration. The system operates independently, with no cable or Bluetooth link to the motorcycle.
The iCUP extends a line that began with the first SKWAL in 2015 and continued with the SKWAL i3 in 2023. It joins the SKWAL i3 and SKWAL i3 JET on a shared technology platform, with all three models homologated to ECE 22.06. In flashing mode, the lighting system is rated for up to approximately 12 hours of autonomy and requires 3 hours for a full recharge. Its three functions are position lighting, intelligent brake lighting and flashing emergency lighting.
Equipment and pricing
The helmet uses a High-Impact Lexan polycarbonate shell produced in two shell sizes, together with a multi-density EPS liner. Airflow is managed by four intakes and two exhausts. The interior is fully removable and incorporates Easy Fit for glasses, while the helmet is prepared for the SENA for SHARK intercom. The specification also includes a Class 1 visor with anti-scratch treatment, a standard Pinlock 70, a patented quick-release mechanism, an integrated tinted inner visor and a double-D fastening system.
The SKWAL iCUP weighs approximately 1,555 grams in size M and is offered in sizes XS through XXL. The matt-black Dark Shadow version costs 329.99 euros and includes a second dark smoked visor. Elsewhere in the family, the SKWAL i3 ranges from 319.99 euros for the basic single-colour version to 379.99 euros for graphic versions supplied with a second visor. The SKWAL i3 JET spans 289.99 to 319.99 euros, with the latter price applying to Dark Shadow.
