GoPro and AGV prepare a helmet with a camera below the visor
The new helmet is expected in 2027, with its GoPro camera built into the front instead of mounted externally.

GoPro and AGV are preparing a motorcycle helmet with a built-in GoPro camera, expected to debut during 2027. Rather than adding an action camera to the shell after the helmet has been designed, the project makes recording part of the helmet’s architecture from the start. That gives the collaboration a different focus from the familiar external mounting solutions used by riders.
The helmet has appeared in testing at Italy’s Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli and later in road use. The camera is visible directly beneath the visor, in a position that appears to take the place of one of the attachment points normally used for external filming equipment. This could produce a neater installation and leave fewer components exposed on the outside of the helmet, although the final benefit will depend on how the system performs in practice.
The integration is the real engineering challenge
AGV’s involvement is significant because the brand is associated with performance-focused helmets and has a strong presence in MotoGP. Fitting electronics into protective equipment involves more than finding room for a camera. It may require changes to ventilation and could influence the shell construction or aerodynamic behaviour. The camera therefore has to be incorporated without undermining the helmet’s essential functions.
The model name, complete specifications, price, intended riders and exact launch date have not been announced. The camera’s field of view and recording quality are also still unknown. If the concept succeeds on those fronts, the partnership could encourage further cooperation between helmet manufacturers and camera specialists. For now, its importance lies in treating the camera as part of the helmet rather than as an accessory attached afterwards.
