Cardo is taking its communication hardware beyond standalone units with the Venture, a motocross and off-road helmet that incorporates mesh communication into the helmet itself. It is available in Canada, the United States, the UK and other global markets. UK customers are quoted a price of £695.

The protection package uses Leatt’s 360-degree Turbine Technology, which is designed to reduce impact forces and rotational acceleration. Cardo pairs it with a three-level safety system and four-density impact foam, creating a package aimed at motocross and off-road riders.

The Venture meets ECE 22.06 and DOT certification standards. In the UK it also carries the ACU Gold sticker; according to Cardo, that allows the helmet to be used in competitive racing.

Communication is part of the helmet

Cardo’s second-generation Dynamic Mesh Communication system lets groups communicate while riding, with a stated range of up to one mile. Live Bluetooth intercom, music sharing and over-the-air software updates are included as well. JBL speakers provide the audio, while Cardo says the communication platform is the same one used by its premium road-going systems.

The equipment list includes emergency-release cheek pads, neck-brace compatibility and integrated routing for a hydration tube. Its ventilation system is designed to increase airflow during slow-speed, high-intensity off-road riding. A lightweight composite shell is intended to reduce fatigue, and the Ionic+ liner adds antimicrobial properties together with moisture and odour management.

Warranty coverage extends to up to five years for the helmet and three years for its technology. The battery is covered for two years in Europe and one year elsewhere in the world. Alon Lumbroso, Cardo Systems’ chief executive officer, described integrated communication as a potential shift for the off-road helmet category. Cardo’s stated aim is to keep riders connected in demanding environments without requiring a separate communicator.
