The 2027 WorldSBK field is beginning to take shape ahead of a landmark season: it will be the championship’s first year in the Michelin tyre era. Nicolo Bulega is at the centre of the biggest confirmed change. Described as champion-elect, he is leaving WorldSBK for MotoGP.

The counterflow brings Jack Miller, Franco Morbidelli and Brad Binder into the series. All three are race winners in the premier class and are set to join WorldSBK for 2027. Their arrival gives the championship three established MotoGP names while the paddock also prepares for its change of tyre supplier.

Several decisions remain open. Alex Rins has ruled out joining the field, despite being linked with Goeleven Ducati. Maverick Vinales had not announced his plans after being left off the MotoGP grid, and former WorldSBK champion Alvaro Bautista was likewise yet to confirm his future. Xavi Verge, meanwhile, has been linked with a Yamaha ride.

The team picture is clearer only in broad terms. BMW, Bimota, Pata and GRT Yamaha are the only organisations identified as having confirmed complete two-rider line-ups so far. The available evidence does not name those riders, so it cannot support a full rider-by-rider grid. The final shape of the 2027 field remains unfinished.
