Tommy Bridewell will remain on the WorldSBK grid in 2027 after agreeing a contract extension with Superbike Advocates. The deal comes during the new team’s first season in the world championship, which the former British Superbike champion joined after a late move into the series.

Bridewell missed the opening race at Phillip Island. At Superbike Advocates’ first event in Portimao, he put the team’s Ducati into the points and has since added two fifth-place finishes. With three rounds still to run, he is 15th in the world championship standings.

Continuity ahead of the tyre change

The extension arrives before a major change for WorldSBK, which will move from Pirelli to Michelin tyres next season. Bridewell said remaining with the same team would be important for continued development, while identifying a strong finish to the 2026 campaign as the immediate priority. He expects work for 2027 to start after Jerez, potentially after only a single day away from the circuit.

Team owner Lee Khouri credited Bridewell with playing a major role in Superbike Advocates’ progress during its debut year and described the decision to continue together as straightforward. Khouri also said the team had been built from scratch with the ambition of fighting at the front. Although progress has been substantial, he acknowledged that more development remains as the squad approaches a new tyre era.
