Petrucci leaves Ducati return open for 2027
GoEleven has asked about Danilo Petrucci’s availability, but the rider is still waiting for BMW to clarify his future.

Danilo Petrucci has confirmed that a return to Ducati in the 2027 WorldSBK season remains possible. GoEleven has asked whether the Italian rider is still available, but the conversations have not produced an agreement. Petrucci says there is no definite answer yet and that the option is still only a possibility.
Petrucci is 16th in the riders’ standings, with seventh place his best dry-weather finish, and he has not recorded a top-10 result since returning from his injury at Donington. His season with BMW’s factory team has been difficult. He left Barni Ducati at the end of the previous season after building his WorldSBK career with the team from 2023 onward.
The Ducati connection goes back further: Petrucci raced for the Italian manufacturer in MotoAmerica in 2022 before moving into WorldSBK. BMW has also discussed retaining him in another championship, with MotoAmerica identified as the alternative. That possibility remains separate from the GoEleven route, which would keep him in WorldSBK with Ducati machinery.
Petrucci says he has not yet received an agreement from BMW for MotoAmerica and is waiting for the manufacturer to define the situation. Discussions with GoEleven are still at an early stage, and he does not control the decision over which rider will leave. A Ducati return is therefore a genuine 2027 possibility, but it is not a confirmed move.
