Remy Gardner will miss both Sunday races at Cremona after examinations found a fracture in the fifth metacarpal of his left hand. The GRT Yamaha rider was initially cleared to continue after crashing at Turn 1 during FP2, an incident that brought out the red flags.

Symptoms emerged on Saturday night and led to another assessment on Sunday morning. Before then, Gardner had been the fastest Yamaha rider in qualifying and had taken 12th place in Race 1. His withdrawal leaves GRT Yamaha with Stefano Manzi as its only rider for the two Sunday races; Manzi finished 11th in the opening race, ahead of Gardner.

Gardner now has two weeks to try to recover before the Estoril round, scheduled for 9–11 October. The season finale at Jerez follows one week later, making the timing of his recovery especially significant for the closing rounds.

Gardner’s longer-term place with the team is secure: he has renewed with Yamaha to remain at GRT in 2027, which will be his fifth season with the Italian squad. Cremona also lacks Tarran Mackenzie, who did not travel to the round while continuing his recovery from injuries sustained at Donington before the summer break. MGM Ducati brought in Loris Baz as his replacement, and Baz finished 15th in Race 1.
