Nicolo Bulega answered a winless Cremona round with a complete Estoril sweep. At WorldSBK’s 11th round of the 2026 season, he won Race 1, the Superpole Race and Race 2, returning to the top step immediately after securing the title at Cremona. That had been the first round of the year in which the Italian failed to win.

Race 2 was decided by Bulega’s pace and tyre management as much as by outright speed. Iker Lecuona remained close in the opening phase, but Bulega became stronger after the halfway point and managed the tyre more effectively. Bulega called Estoril one of the best weekends of his season, saying that his feeling with the motorcycle was excellent and thanking his team for its work.

A new WorldSBK benchmark

The Superpole Race was Bulega’s 28th victory of the season. That took him beyond the previous WorldSBK single-season record of 27 wins, set by Alvaro Bautista in 2023. His points total also reached 664, the highest single-season tally in the history of the championship.

Bulega made clear that records matter, but winning races remains his priority. He said he was proud to see his name added to the championship’s major performance lists, while his focus has already moved to Jerez. The next target is more wins—and, if the opportunity comes, more records.
