Nicolo Bulega ended the Superpole Race at Jerez with another victory and a new single-season WorldSBK podium record. The factory Aruba.it Ducati rider led Iker Lecuona and Sam Lowes across the line, adding the result to a campaign in which he had already established the season record for wins. It was also the final day of Bulega’s WorldSBK career before his planned move to MotoGP.

Bulega started from pole position, but Lecuona made the sharper launch and passed Lowes for second during the opening lap. That challenge did not last long at the front: Bulega quickly built control while Lecuona and Lowes settled into the leading trio. The Ducati rider was circulating in the low 1m 37s, and the three leaders opened a gap of roughly one second over Yari Montella in fourth.

Montella held fourth, with Alex Lowes initially fifth and Alvaro Bautista moving into sixth. Bautista then began closing on Alex Lowes for the final place in that group, while Bulega continued to run clear at the head of the race. The result lifted Bulega’s 2026 podium total to 35, confirming the highest number achieved in a single WorldSBK season. His record-setting weekend had already included victory in Race 1, where Sam Lowes finished second and Iker Lecuona third.

Bulega had also been fastest in the morning warm-up before the final WorldSBK races of the year. Alex Lowes remained the leading non-Ducati rider in that session, finishing fifth behind Bulega, Sam Lowes, Lecuona and Montella. The warm-up order was separate from the Superpole Race result, in which Alex Lowes finished fifth and Bautista sixth.

Bautista’s fourth place in Race 1 came after he passed team-mate Montella in a battle that included slight contact. Bautista was still looking for a seat for the 2027 campaign, while Bulega’s next step was already defined: he is expected to join Valentino Rossi’s VR46 team in MotoGP in 2027. Race 2 of the Jerez finale was scheduled for 14:30 UK time, bringing Bulega’s final WorldSBK race weekend to its closing stage.
