Alberto Surra confirmed with Motocorsa Ducati for WorldSBK 2027
The Italian rider will continue with the one-bike team after a rookie season highlighted by third place in Cremona’s Superpole Race.

Alberto Surra will remain with Motocorsa Ducati for the 2027 WorldSBK season, continuing as the team’s sole rider. The agreement extends a project that began when the Italian stepped up to the championship in 2026 after competing in World Supersport the previous year.
Surra’s first WorldSBK campaign has included difficult moments, among them a high-profile incident with Sam Lowes at Most. Its clearest sporting success came at Cremona, where he finished third in the Superpole Race. That podium gives the rider and team a concrete result to build on as they prepare for a second season together.
Continuity for a developing project
Surra said he was very happy to confirm another season with Motocorsa Racing and wants to keep improving his results alongside team manager Lorenzo Mauri and the rest of the squad. He described the team as a second family, while making clear that the target is to continue fighting for podiums in 2027.
Mauri said the 2026 season allowed the two sides to get to know each other, handle important moments and establish strong mutual trust. He identified the third-place finish in Cremona as one of the team’s highlights and as evidence of the potential of their shared project.
For Motocorsa, retaining Surra is therefore a decision built around continuity rather than a change of direction. Mauri pointed to the rider’s professionalism, commitment and consistent desire to improve, adding that the experience gained during Surra’s first WorldSBK year should be valuable when the 2027 season begins. The team is now set to continue with the same rider at the centre of its one-bike Ducati effort.
