World Supercross ends after a single round
SX Global has ended the 2026 season immediately while seeking funding for the international series’ future.

The 2026 FIM World Supercross Championship is over after a single completed round. SX Global has brought the season to an immediate close, leaving five of the six scheduled events unraced. Calgary therefore remains the only competitive stop of this year’s series, while its continuation is now tied to the promoter’s search for additional funding.
The opening event took place on August 8 at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, Canada. The original calendar was then due to visit England, Argentina, South Africa and Australia before ending in New Zealand on December 5. Birmingham’s October 10 round had already been cancelled; the latest decision removes the rest of the planned events from the 2026 schedule as well.
SX Global says it is in advanced discussions with potential investors about the series’ future, and that the decision was made while those talks continue. The championship had also faced rumours that teams and riders were not being paid, alongside the heavy logistics burden created by moving equipment around the world.
The promoter has not presented the suspension as a definitive end to World Supercross. SX Global says it still believes in the championship’s international potential and in the foundations established so far, and remains optimistic that the investor talks can reach a positive result and create a strong platform for the future. It thanked the riders, teams, partners, venues, staff and fans who supported the series, adding that more information will follow in due course.
