The TVS Racing International Championship, known as TRIC, has reached Europe for the first time, with its 2026 event held at Italy’s Misano World Circuit. Running from October 2 to 4, the meeting brought together 14 riders representing 12 nationalities and four continents. Every competitor rode a race-prepared version of the TVS Apache RR 310.

Misano broadens the reach of a series that began in 2022 with a predominantly Asian focus. Before arriving in Italy, TRIC had visited Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and Indonesia, while TVS says its rider pool now includes competitors from 16 countries. The European round placed the race-prepared Apache in a different setting from its earlier venues and gave the championship a more international competitive field.

The TRIC machine goes beyond the road bike’s specification. TVS describes an upgraded aerodynamic package, increased power and revised riding dynamics. The race bike has also posted notable figures at Asian circuits: in 2023 it reached 215.9kph (134mph) and recorded a 1:49.74 lap at Thailand’s Chang International Circuit. In 2024, the figures became 216km/h and 1:48.44 at the same venue, while the Apache set a 2:20.80 lap at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit. As a reference point, a fast Moto3 lap at Sepang is said to be around 2:10.

Vimal Sumbly, TVS Motor’s Head of Premium Business, called the move into Europe a significant step for the company’s racing programme. It also fits TVS’s broader international expansion: the company sells motorcycles in more than 90 international markets and completed its acquisition of Norton in 2020. TVS says the Apache family has passed seven million customers worldwide, while the Apache Owners Group has grown beyond 500,000 members.
