Triumph completes MX2 championship double with the TF 250-X
Guillem Farres secured Triumph’s first FIM World Championship title, while the TF 250-X also delivered the manufacturer its first MX2 manufacturers’ crown.

Triumph has won its first FIM World Championship title, just three years after entering motocross. Guillem Farres led the Hinckley-based manufacturer to the MX2 riders’ crown, while Triumph also won the FIM MX2 Motocross Manufacturers World Championship for the first time. The result gives the TF 250-X a championship double in the 2026 campaign.
Farres and team-mate Camden McLellan were central to the achievement. The pair combined for 11 of the 19 Grand Prix victories during the season and finished first and second in the championship. Their overall record also included 21 moto wins, 26 podium finishes, eight double podiums and four 1-2 results on the £7,995 TF 250-X, according to Visordown. The publication also notes that Triumph is the first British manufacturer to win a motocross title since 1965.
A new factory programme reaches the top
The TF 250-X was developed alongside Triumph’s motocross project, in collaboration with off-road racers Ricky Carmichael and Ivan Cervantes. Its stated maximum power is around 46 bhp at 13,750 rpm. The motorcycle uses KYB suspension, Brembo brakes and Pro Taper handlebars, while its electronics package combines launch control, traction control, dual engine maps and a quickshifter.
Nick Bloor, Chief Executive Officer of Triumph Motorcycles, described the result as a major achievement for the company and the people involved in the project. In comments carried by Visordown, he said Triumph had entered prestigious off-road championships with factory teams while launching a new motorcycle line-up for the segment. Bloor added that the company had committed to creating a long-lasting impact in motocross, and said winning both the riders’ and manufacturers’ MX2 championships was a source of immense pride. He also congratulated Farres, McLellan and the wider team.
