Ducati has selected Nicolai Berg Skovbjerg for its 2027 FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship programme. The Danish rider will make his MX2 debut on the Desmo250 MX with the Beddini Racing Ducati MX2 Factory Team, joining Ferruccio Zanchi in the team’s line-up.

The move follows a runner-up finish in the 2026 EMX250 European Championship. Skovbjerg also collected three overall wins during that season, while Ducati points to his ability on demanding sandy terrain. The switch represents a substantial progression for a rider moving from the European championship into the MX2 world championship field.

A new stage after EMX125

Skovbjerg has been racing motocross since 2009. He spent two years in EMX125, and 2026 marked his third season after that period. Born on 25 August 2006 in Padborg, Southern Jutland, Denmark, he now moves into a new category with the Desmo250 MX and Zanchi as his team-mate for the 2027 campaign.

Skovbjerg described the agreement as a major career step and a dream come true. For Ducati, the signing adds a rider with three victories and a second-place EMX250 championship finish to its MX2 project as the team prepares for 2027.
