The 2026 Quad Lock MotoAmerica Superbike Championship heads into its decisive triple-header at New Jersey Motorsports Park from September 25 to 27. The three races at the Thunderbolt Circuit offer 75 points in total, leaving four riders with a mathematical route to the crown. Whoever finishes on top will become a first-time champion in the premier Superbike class.

Kelly has the cushion

Sean Dylan Kelly of OrangeCat Racing leads the standings on 279 points, 26 ahead of Bobby Fong. His BMW M 1000 RR season has been built on consistency: he has taken 13 podiums from 15 races and recorded three victories. That margin gives Kelly room to focus on protecting his position rather than treating every race as an all-or-nothing pursuit of another win.

A Kelly championship would give BMW consecutive titles after Cameron Beaubier's 2025 success. Fong, his closest challenger, rides a Yamaha YZF-R1 for Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing and has 253 points. His recent form is formidable, with six podiums in the last seven races and three wins in the last five.

The challengers behind them

Fong also has a recent NJMP reference point: he won the opening race there last year, then crashed in the next two and fell out of that championship fight. Mathew Scholtz of Strack Racing is third on 233 points, 46 behind Kelly, and has four Yamaha YZF-R1 wins this season. That matches Fong's total and gives both riders an advantage over Kelly in a potential tiebreaker, since the leader has three victories.

JD Beach sits fourth with 230 points, 49 behind Kelly, on another Yamaha YZF-R1 from Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing. His route is the most demanding: he essentially needs to win all three races while benefiting from favorable results among the riders ahead of him. Beach's double victory at Laguna Seca, however, shows why he remains a threat.

Race 1 is scheduled for Saturday at 3:12 p.m. ET. Race 2 follows on Sunday at 12:12 p.m., with the finale at 3:12 p.m. ET, all at New Jersey Motorsports Park's Thunderbolt Circuit.
