Alex Rins considers Dakar and Formula 3 after MotoGP exit
The former race winner is leaving two-wheel competition, but has yet to settle on his next racing programme.

Alex Rins is preparing to leave MotoGP without yet deciding what comes next. The former MotoGP race winner with Suzuki and Honda has announced his retirement from two-wheel racing, while keeping open the possibility of continuing his career in another form of competition.
Speaking on Thursday at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, Rins said cars still appeal to him. He also mentioned having driven on snow in the past. His comments did not include a confirmed entry, team or timetable for a new project. They did make clear that he does not intend to simply step away from competition.
Several routes remain open
Asked about reports linking him with the Dakar, Rins said a participation is possible. He also identified a Formula 3 car as another potential direction. At the same time, he stressed that nothing has been finalised: circuit racing, dirt, Dakar or another type of competition all remain on the table. “We are working on something,” he said, without revealing further details about the project.
Rins’ most recent race reference was Misano, where he retired last weekend because of vision problems and dizziness. His best result so far this season with Monster Yamaha is ninth. His MotoGP departure is therefore settled, but the destination of his next racing venture remains undecided, with Dakar and Formula 3 presented as possibilities rather than confirmed plans.
