Yamaha, part of the Motodynamiki Group, is supporting the recording, recognition and formal establishment of motorcycle passes in Greece. The initiative focuses on mountain and natural routes suitable for motorcycle tourism, with the stated framework including respect for the environment, the Highway Code and the local communities along those routes.

The first stage is being carried out with the municipalities of Nestorio and Konitsa. Yamaha is taking responsibility for producing the information signs for each motorcycle pass and is supplying Yamaha Ténéré 700 motorcycles together with suitable rider equipment. The motorcycles and equipment will be used for the safe mapping, photography and filming of each route.

Mapping begins around Nestorio

Route mapping has already started in the Municipality of Nestorio for the motorcycle passes of Grammos, Charos and Kotyli. These routes form the first defined area of work in a cooperation designed to continue over the long term.

The plan is to extend the initiative to more municipalities across the country and gradually enlarge the network of recognised routes. Yamaha presents its involvement as support for responsible motorcycle tourism and for highlighting destinations in the Greek countryside, in line with the company’s Kando philosophy.
