Shadow-themed custom motorcycle reaches £210,000 at auction
The one-off Bourget inspired by Shadow the Hedgehog sold for almost 15 times its estimate, with the proceeds supporting the Luca Guintoli Foundation.

The one-off Dark Rider – Year of Shadow custom motorcycle sold for £210,000 at the Bonhams Autumn Stafford sale on Sunday, October 11. The 2000 Bourget, inspired by Sega’s Shadow the Hedgehog, had been valued at only £10,000–£15,000. Every penny from the sale went to the Luca Guintoli Foundation.
Powered by a 1,750cc engine, the Dark Rider achieved almost 15 times its original estimate. It ranked as the auction’s second-most expensive motorcycle, behind a Brough Superior SS100 that sold for £327,750. The build is associated with Sega, Oil Sweat & Gears and Atmospherics SFX. Bonhams’ listing described it as the first piece of Sega memorabilia to come directly from the company and be offered at auction.
The Luca Guintoli Foundation was established in 2025 for Luca Guintoli, who died at the age of six after a near year-long battle with cancer. Its work focuses on the physical and mental health of children with autism or cancer, together with their families in England and Wales. The foundation provides financial help, education, practical advice and wider support.
Sylvain Guintoli had also raised £150,000 for PASIC by running the London Marathon alongside his daughters Alicia and Layla. The group wore full one-piece leather racing suits featuring a Sonic the Hedgehog design.
