Danny Webb earns his motorcycle licence at 35
The former Grand Prix rider and Isle of Man TT racer passed his Direct Access test on a Suzuki GSX-8S.

Danny Webb has passed his motorcycle licence test at 35 through the Direct Access route, using a Suzuki GSX-8S. For the former Grand Prix rider and Isle of Man TT competitor, the licence opens a road-riding chapter alongside a career built around race machinery.
The GSX-8S used for the test has a 776cc parallel-twin engine producing 83bhp and 58lb-ft of torque. Webb said the licence gives him a chance to trade leathers for a jacket and jeans and enjoy a ride without the constant focus on speed that has defined much of his motorcycling.
Webb’s racing record includes the last 125cc Grand Prix pole position, taken at Valencia in 2011 on a Mahindra. That motorcycle was later used by Bradley Ray in the BSB Motostar class. Webb also said the GSX-8S engine, which is proving itself in the British Sportbike Championship, suits a more upright road bike particularly well because of its torque.
His Suzuki connection remains active on the racing side. Webb competed in the Daytona 200 during the previous two seasons on a GSX-R750 run by Team Classic Suzuki, and will travel to Florida in November for testing ahead of the 2027 event. He also continues to compete in the Endurance World Championship, riding a BMW M1000 RR for Team LRP Poland.
